Protecting Your Home with Crystal Grid Energy

Many crystals are naturally protective, and some well-placed ones can really come together to create Mother Nature’s ultimate home-security grid! Follow these simple steps to create your own special protection grid for security, comfort, and peace of mind.
I am often asked about using crystals for energetic protection. Creating a crystal grid is a simple way to work with crystal energy for protection. In this post, I’m sharing a simple method for energetically protecting your home with crystal grid energy. This crystal grid recipe uses only 2 types of stones. Even better, they can be used effectively in any dwelling.
To create an initial energetic shield to protect your home, place Black Tourmaline in each exterior corner. You can then place Selenite along each of the walls and any exterior doorways or windows. This will energetically connect the Tourmaline stones. The Tourmaline acts to set an energetic protective boundary while the Selenite aids in cleansing and purification.

My ideal grid for protecting your home with crystal grid energy:
The diagram of the home below shows my ideal set up. This setup uses 12 pieces of Black Tourmaline, one in each exterior corner of the home. It also uses 14 pieces of Selenite (at least one on each exterior wall where there is no window PLUS one over each exterior door and each window).
However, if this many stones is not within your budget, or if there would be safety concerns over placing the stones in children’s rooms, etc. you can absolutely reduce the total number of stones. Do this by placing the Tourmalines in just the outermost corners of the home. This can be reduced to only 6 pieces.
Additionally, by placing just one piece of Selenite per exterior wall (but still making sure to place one above each exterior window or door), the number of pieces of Selenite used is reduced to only 7 pieces. The resulting grid would still be very effective for most situations. Also, it would only be a fraction of the cost. This makes energetic home protection a bit easier on your pocketbook, which is always a bonus!
Setting Up Your Grid for Energetic Protection:
Before placing the stones, they should be cleansed. As you place each crystal in the grid, hold your intention clearly in your mind. This may be something like, “This crystal adds to the energy of my grid and helps to creates a protective energetic boundary around my home.” OR “This crystal energetically protects me and my family in our home.”
After placing the stones, it is recommended that you “activate” the grid.
Activating your grid means to energetically link the crystals together. Since this is a large scale grid, the activation process is a bit different than it would be for a small, tabletop crystal grid.
To activate your grid, you’ll need a Crystal Laser Wand (a single-terminated clear Quartz point) or an additional piece of Selenite. Alternatively, you can even just activate your grid with your finger. Point the crystal or your finger toward the first crystal in the grid. Some people like to begin with the crystal in the northernmost position, but just do what feels most natural. Move around your home from one stone to the next in a clockwise direction while “drawing” energetic connections between each stone.
In this way, you connect the crystals energetically. This means that they are better able to act as one harmonious grid, rather than many individual stones. After the grid has been activated by completing the energetic circuit between the crystals, remember to cleanse the stones fairly often and revisit the intention you’ve set for the grid to be sure it’s still relevant.
Additional crystal properties you may wish to add to the energy of your grid:
SELENITE:

What if you can’t reach the top of your exterior windows and doors? Can you place them at the bottom?
Hi Barbara, the tops are suggested just so they aren’t tripping hazards on the floor…if they need to go on the floor beneath windows that would be ok, but probably just skip the doors or go as near to the doors as possible along the walls so that it’s not a hazard. Hope that helps!
Can I ask if you have a two story house would It be enough to just grid the ground floor layout or would I need to do the second floor also?

Thank you so much for this post! Should I place crystals only on the inside perimeter or outside perimeter of my house? I have a two story house, so let me know if it would be best to create a similar grid on the second level as well. Also, do all the crystals need to be removed for cleansing?
Glad you enjoyed it! We typically do inside, and just on the first floor. And they don’t necessarily need to be removed but it is good to cleanse them periodically, when possible. <3 Follow your intuition there. 🙂

Yes! Really you can place them with intention wherever it’s convenient! Or if there are no convenient locations in the home, you can make a grid with a layout shaped similarly to your home and place the crystals there as well. <3 🙂

How often do you recommend cleansing your crystal and how?
Hi Anna! You should cleanse your stones anytime they’re exposed to really emotionally charged energy, if they’re in a really chaotic environment, or if you do some intense healing work. For routine maintenance, it’s recommended to cleanse crystals once per month if in a normal environment, once per week in a heavily trafficked space, or daily if in a room used for healing work. If you have walls that are floor to ceiling windows i.e. no way to place a crystal on top/near top, is it okay to place the selenite at the bottom instead, or is a replicate grid better? And thank you kindly in advance for your support in this — makes it all a little easier for sure!

Hi Luanda! Thank you for asking for clarification, I can see how the comment can be confusing. Essentially, if gridding a piece of property it would be done on the exterior. If gridding a building, they can either do the inside or outside, it doesn’t matter as long as the exterior edge of the grid encompasses the space you’ll be occupying. <3 Crystal Blessings!

Hello there – I have a question. Can I put cheat quartz Crystal in the walls (new construction home) to protect my home? I thought this would be a new way to protect – Please give me your thoughts and suggestions! Thank you ?
Hi Tania, I’ve heard of placing stones like black tourmaline in the ground during construction but I’m not familiar with pacing crystals in the walls. Having crystals like clear or smokey quartz can help repel and clear negativity in the home, however, since they do need cleansing from time to time I think this may be more difficult to do if within the walls. is it ok to put the crystals in a plastic or mesh bag on the floor so they dont get dirty?
Hi Faithy! If wanting to keep them clean, a non-plastic material may be the best option in this specific case (wood, cotton, silk) since these natural materials resonate with the earth’s energy and are grounding. If you want to shield them, you want to pick something synthetic like plastic if your goal is to keep outside energy out of your materials. 🙂
Can we stick the crystals to the walls up high? As have young children whom I don’t wish to mess with the crystals, and nowhere up high to Stick on a ledge? Also, the window ledges are quite low.

I would love to see how you can grid the whole property you live on, especially when you are working the land! We want to grow a bountiful garden and have farm animals. Any thoughts on how to an achieve that?

I enjoyed your video on protecting your home with black tourmaline and selenite. I had already planned to bury the black tourmaline(raw) in the 4 corners of my property, is this effective and do I need to dig them up every month to charge or does the earth charge them?
2nd question, if I bury the tourmaline, where do I put the selenite? Still over the windows and doors of my home?
