More Information About the Healing Properties of Bumblebee Jasper:
Jaspers are primarily quartz (silicon dioxide, or SO2) which has been broken down and reformed within the earth, often picking up traces of other minerals in the process. More complex jaspers may even include veins or small pieces of other minerals. Some jaspers are actually agates, rhyolites, or other stones. In general, jaspers are associated with grounding and connection to Mother Earth. The heavily patterned ones are often also associated with creativity and mental focus.

I am really pleased to read this article in Bumble Bee Jasper and I recently stumbled across it as it is so beautiful and after reading the metaphysical properties, I knew I needed this so I decided to order a pretty pendant. Can you tell me if it safe to wear as I am now aware this stone is slightly toxic and probably not a good idea to wear directly against skin? And will I still gain benefits for wearing over a crew necked top of jumper? Would appreciate your comments as my pendant is so pretty. Many thanks ?
So happy to hear you enjoyed the article and also love Bumblebee Jasper! 🙂 When raw, this crystal is toxic. Though when it’s tumbled, it is safe to handle. But if you are concerned, or have other uses in mind then do what you feel is right. Here is what our friends at Healing Crystals had to say about this: https://www.healingcrystals.com/Is_Bumblebee_Jasper_Safe_To_Handle__Articles_17172.html And as far as wearing it over clothing – yes! You will still gain the benefits of the stone. Just slightly less direct but still effective. <3 Crystal Blessings
It contains arsenic so If you are planning on handling the raw material with your bare hands, do so when the stone is completely dry, and then wash your hands afterwards.
Just must remember that even though your skin feels dry, it doesn’t mean that it is.
Our skin cells constantly sweat and secrete oils which can help transfer that arsenic from the stone and then into your body (touching your eyes, eating food, or even via absorption.
If using for jewelry, please consider using a backing on it to be even more safe and doesnt sit on the skin. Yes, it is safe to wear, so long as you take reasonable precautions (meaning don’t consume it or get it into your body in any way).
Hi Genevieve! Excellent advice for when handling raw Bumblelbee jasper, thank you for commenting! <3 Crystal Blessings
