If you’re anything like me, there are occasionally times in your life when you feel scattered, mentally foggy, or just plain out of sorts. Sometimes, the best thing we can do for ourselves is to take just a few short minutes to focus on self-care. One of the simplest and most effective ways to do this is with a centering meditation (using crystals of course!).
Begin by choosing a crystal to work with for this exercise. I recommend something like clear Quartz, Aquamarine, or Rose Quartz (something that helps you to feel calm and in your center). Start the meditation by making yourself comfortable in a space where you will not be disturbed. Be sure you can devote some time to this grounding practice and that you will be free from any outside distractions.
Take a few deep, cleansing breaths. Close your eyes and visualize rainbow-filled water gently flowing down from above you. See this rainbow water flowing over your Crown Chakra, gently washing over your physical body (moving down your body over your Third Eye Chakra, down to your Throat Chakra, your Heart, Solar Plexus, Sacral, and Root Chakras, down your legs, and into the earth). Visualize this rainbow water continuing to flow over you and beginning to pool near your feet. The water is now beginning to be absorbed by the earth, trickling down through the particles of soil and the rocks, deeper and deeper, down through the earth. As it moves further and further down, it brings rainbow energy with it as it is pulled to the very center of the earth.
Through this rainbow water, you feel that you are connected to the universal energy above you, and to the earth below you. You are connected to the very center of the earth itself. Now, visualize white light moving through the water into your Crown Chakra, bringing together the colors of the rainbow into pure white energy. This white light energy continues to pass through the water down each chakra center gathering together all of the colors of the rainbow as it moves. This white light continues with the stream of gentle water until it too reaches the very center of the earth.
Once the white light reaches the earth’s core, the water above your head stops flowing. Any remaining water washes over your body and flows gently to the center of the earth. You may now take a few deep breaths, slowly open your eyes, and gently stretch your arms or wiggle your toes until you are once again back to full conscious awareness.
