Crystals for New Year
Crystals for New Beginnings in the New Year

The new year is a common time to make big changes and set the stage for transformation and new beginnings.  Most of us have grandiose plans at first, but quickly slip back into old habits.  So how can you be sure to stick with your plans and stay on track with your goals to start fresh in the new year?  With crystals of course!

Crystals can be quickly and easily programmed with a specific intention or purpose.  For example, Rhodonite is a fantastic stone for new beginnings.  To start a new routine in the new year, simply reach for a piece of Rhodonite and hold it in your hands.  Close your eyes and think about exactly what you’d like to do differently in the new year.  Visualize it in great detail – is it a new yoga routine, a commitment to read a book per week, quitting a bad habit?  See it as clearly as possible, as if you can see it playing like a movie in your mind’s eye.  Once you’ve been able to visualize this new routine, hold the crystal over your heart for a moment to show your gratitude to the stone.  Your stone has now been imprinted, or programmed, with the information from your visualization.

Once you’ve programmed your stone, simply carry it with you, in your purse, pocket, or handbag.  Any time you feel yourself begin to stray from your new routine, just reach for your stone for a bit of support and a reminder of that good feeling you had during your visualization.  This will help ensure that your good intentions for creating new beginnings keep their momentum the whole year through.

Since you’ll be carrying your stone throughout the day, you’ll need to be sure to cleanse it frequently.  One of the simplest methods of cleansing is to smudge your stones.  You can cleanse a single stone by passing it through the smoke of burning herbs like sage, cedar, or palo santo.  Similarly, you can cleanse a group of crystals by wafting a burning sage wand over the entire group of stones.  A great alternative method to cleanse your stones is to ring a bell or sound a chime near your crystal.  You may even play a singing bowl or use a tuning fork.  Sound is a powerful cleanser of energy and is quick, simple, and convenient.

When we cleanse our stones, do we need to “reprogram” our intentions back into them afterwards? After all, isn’t it being COMPLETELY cleansed of everything? I know it’s probably a stupid question, I was just wondering.

I LOVE all of your work Ashley and am SO thankful to have found you!!! This article and information are GREAT and I will certainly start using all of your tips! I really enjoyed your webinar on Tues. night! I was amazed at the age difference I felt with people being late, the “chat bar” that was just very distracting and the late people wanting to know what they had missed? I felt all of that was very disrespectful to you and the rest of us. I am 54, but we were never raised to behave like this. Since I always offer a possible solution to a complaint, maybe not have LIVE webinar’s and have them pre-done before air and THEN offer a live Q&A immediately following. Also, a lot of us were very intrigued with the beautiful crystals you had on the book cases behind you, so maybe have a “show and tell” about what you have in your home and why 🙂 Thank you SO very much for all you do for ALL of us!!! Love, Michelle
