Can I Use My Crystal Jewelry for Healing?

Can you use it the same way you would a regular crystal?

This is something I get asked pretty frequently, and the answer is…

It depends.

When crystals are set in jewelry, the energy is a combination of the properties of the stone itself as well as the metal that it’s set in. Most metals are highly conductive and act to amplify energy, but they also have their own inherent qualities. So, as long as you’re ok with the properties that the metals add to the piece, and they don’t conflict with your purpose for using the stone, then you’re in good shape.

So what properties do the metals have?

COPPER: Use at the 1st Chakra (Root Chakra) and 2nd Chakra (Sacral Chakra) for aiding in motivation, increasing self-love, encouraging an optimistic attitude, increasing confidence, overcoming negative thought patterns and conditioning, creating balance between the physical and ethereal bodies, stimulating telepathy, for good luck, grounding, amplifying energy and intention, maintaining proper circulation, relieving infection, and to treat arthritis pain.

SILVER: Use at the 2nd Chakra (Sacral Chakra) or at the 6th Chakra (Third Eye Chakra) for enhancing intuition, connecting with the water element, enhancing female energy, emotional balance, helping to look at situations objectively, aiding the ability to return to the physical body after astral travel, connecting with lunar energies, and to open and clear energetic meridians.

GOLD: Use at the 3rd Chakra (Solar Plexus Chakra) or at the 7th Chakra (Crown Chakra) to balance masculine and feminine energies, bring the energy of the sun into the body, warm the body, open the crown chakra, promote a willingness to change (to be malleable), balance hormones, and to aid in overcoming addictions.

Again, as long as the properties of the metals support and are cohesive with the reason you’re working with the specific crystal you’ve chosen, you can absolutely use your crystal jewelry for healing.

However, there are a few important things to keep in mind when wearing Crystal Jewelry for Healing.

Just like with regular crystals, you need to keep your stone jewelry cleansed. It can be easy to forget to do this, especially with something you wear every day, but it is almost even more important to cleanse these pieces since they’re worn directly on the body and are kept with you for such a long period of time.

I mentioned how important cleansing your crystal jewelry is because it usually make contact with your skin, but do the crystals actually have to touch your skin in order for them to work?

Absolutely not.

Not all healers would agree with me on this one (and you might not either), but hang with me here for a second… I promise I’m going somewhere with this.

If the crystals do touch your skin, that’s great. In some methods of crystal therapy this is actually quite important. However, it being necessary is another story. Crystals actually have the ability to absorb, store, and transmit energy, and they do this in a BIG way.

So, even a small stone, like one set in a piece of jewelry, is capable of transmitting its energy into your aura. And this is done though your intention. This means there’s no real need to have the stone physically touching your skin.
