Record-Keeper crystals are quite desirable because of their unique attributes and abilities. The moment you locate that little triangle on the face of a crystal, you know that it’s even more special than you originally thought. Record-Keeper crystals can grant you access to valuable information, assist you in doing some serious past-life healing work, take you on journeys unlike any you’ve ever experienced, and so much more.
Record-Keeper crystals have very unique energy, matched only by their unusual appearance. These crystals can be identified by the appearance of raised or sunken “record-keeper” triangles on the faces of the crystal.
The record-keepers are typically formed when mineral-rich solution flowed over protrusions on the surface of the crystal point. They are normally found on only a few of the crystal faces (not all) and they show the direction of the fluid flow as the geologic event that formed them was occurring. Although most commonly found in minerals of the Quartz group (i.e. Clear Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Amethyst, Citrine, etc.), record-keepers are also sometimes present in the Corundum group (i.e. Ruby and Sapphire stones).
Many intuitives and healers believe that these record keeper triangles can used to access information that’s been stored within the crystal. Some people think that these represent data or information implants that are actually within the stone itself, and that you can access this through meditation or simply by making it your intention to consciously access the information that may be stored in the crystal. These crystals are often used to access the knowledge and wisdom of ancient civilizations and peoples (or of your ancestors).
These crystals have also been shown to activate dormant intuitive abilities and enhance ones psychic skills. In particular, these crystals can help the user to develop clairvoyance and clairaudience. For this reason, record-keeper crystals can be successfully used in meditation in order to connect and communicate with your personal spirit guides.
Some people report that these crystals have also facilitated access to the information stored within the Akashic Records. For this reason, these crystals have shown to be especially useful for enhancing past life work (whether it be for exploration and gathering information, for healing trauma associated with the past lifetime, or for discovering past life connections to others).
Many also believe that these crystals are highly programmable, and that you can actually store your own information or data within the stone (even more so than with just a typical Quartz crystal).
Working with these crystals is best done by meditating with them, to connect with their energy one-on-one. However, if used in a crystal healing layout, small record-keeper crystals may be placed over the Third Eye Chakra in order to facilitate past-life healing. For this reason, they are excellent when used during Shamanic journeying or Astral Travel to heal and clear negative energy from your ancestral line. Record-Keeper crystals can also be useful when placed over a chakra containing a blockage, because they can help you to discover the reason for the blocked or stagnant energy, facilitating release and deep healing.

I had one: a beautiful roundish clear quartz, with three clear triangles on one surface – different sizes, pointed up, that look like someone scratched them in. I found it in a box full of various clear quartz crystals we were going to hand out as my friend’s project on spreading love. I saw the crystal straight away and picked it up, noticed the triangles and thought that was interesting. My friend then started to almost cry as she mentioned she had a flashback of Atlantis and that we were probably there together. She told me it was a record keeper, showed me a website with a picture of a crystal with almost exactly the same sized triangles in similar positions.
Sadly, I accidentally (or not?) left it in a hotel in another country…
It was a powerful feeling, but I guess it’s for someone else now. I haven’t seen one again since I lost it 3 years ago.

I bought 2 small emeralds n on the one there is a triangle carved into it. I was wondering wat it was. U can just about see it when u hold it to the light tho.

That would be so cool to see being that it’s my favorite gem stone and my birth stone. I have one record keeper crystal. When I found it I had never heard of record keeper crystals. I was looking through a bunch of crystals at a shop and had got down to about 5 to choose from, and then I noticed one had a perfectly tiny etched triangle in it. As soon as I saw the triangle I knew that was the one I wanted. It was such a perfect triangle. I was already born being a little different let’s just say in dealing with the paranormal, and I have been astral projecting since the age of 12. I just found out not long ago that my crystal is considered a record keeper so I’m going to try to do some special work with it soon. I’ll update what unfolds.

I was not aware that the triangles on Rubies were RK’s. I thought it was a part of their growth structure. Almost every Ruby crystal I have has one.

My sis gave me a giant rose quartz one for xmas, it’s about 6 in. Tall and pretty thick too. Very beautiful. Can that stone be counted as one, also, bc of the triangle it has?

I had learned about these special crystals before I went to the Tucson gemshow years back. Please read to the end, I have an important message from this story. I was told stories and had researched about these crystals, and set the intention to find one at the show. I spent days going around the town, show to show asking if anyone had any or knew anyone that did. Almost everyone I had asked had no idea what I was talking about. It wasn’t until I stopped trying and was walking around, enjoying the sun, being in the moment, and keeping my gaze upon the ground that I came across a puddle of water with a crystal poking just above the surface. Excited for a ground score, I picked it up, dried it off, and felt joy to find a beautiful quartz crystal the size of a silver dollar, it had deep red and white inclusions, no chips, perfectly sound in structure, sharp edges. Surely a very unique crystal that one would find in a display case with the other high-grade crystals. Looking at it closer, my eye caught 3 distinct and defined outward triangles. Pure joy.
Fast forward, when I got back home, I took the crystal out with the intention to meditate with it, but for some reason, decided to hold on to it while I cleaned out my car first. To deep crystal enthusiasts reading this, you will understand what happened next. As I was cleaning underneath the drivers seat, crystal in hand, I picked up some things caught underneath WITH the same hand holding the crystal. When I came back up, and put the things I picked up into a trash bag, the crystal was gone. Vanished. Something I have witnessed quite a few times with the crystal kingdom. I searched EVERYWHERE, inch by inch. No that crystal phase shifted off this plane.
Intuitively, I knew without doubt that I did not respect that crystal. I didn’t wait. My heart broke with bittersweet gratitude, thankful that I got to be with it for at least awhile. My message to those that care and understand, if you ever find one of these crystals, give it the utmost respect. Do ONE thing at a time, always, that was my lesson.
I look forward to the next one the universe will grant me. I know beyond any doubt that I will be ready and wiser when I meet it. I will greet it with gratitude and respect. I will do my best to heal my past life wounds. I pray for my soul to heal. I pray for YOU to find one of these very rare, very special crystals and discover deep healing, should you ever desire it.
