There’s no doubt that Selenite is a popular favorite among crystal healers and other lightworkers. Easy to find and gentle on the wallet, Selenite is a master crystal when it comes to purification and higher connections. The only challenge? Which formation to with! With many formations to choose from, it can be difficult to decide on one. Highlighted here are 2 Selenite formations no crystal healer should be without.
When you use Selenite for healing, it’s like having a direct connection to the universal source (divine or universal energy). This energy is incredibly cleansing and purifying because it is made of pure, healing, white light.
Selenite, a form of Gypsum, is strongly connected with the Crown Chakra. It is commonly used for promoting a connection with the Higher Self, to aid in ascension and spiritual growth, to help clear the mind for meditation, and to promote peace and harmony. However its most common use is for purification (especially to cleanse the chakras or the aura).
Rough, Selenite wands (sometimes called blades), are the most common form of Selenite. They can be used to remove negativity from the energy field. This can be accomplished by holding the Selenite in one hand (so that the wand is horizontal or parallel to the ground) and sweeping the energy body with the wand. To sweep the aura, you should start at your client’s head and move down towards their feet. Move the Selenite wand through his or her energy field while intending to remove any negative energy. I recommend doing this three times for best results. Move along the left side of the body first, then the right side of the body, and then the center.
Any time clearing or cleansing is performed, it’s important to intend that any negative energy be transmuted into positive energy. To help me do this, I visualize a cleansing waterfall filled with white light. I see it transform the energy into pure, white light.
Angel Wing Selenite (also known as Fishtail Selenite) is actually a twinned Gypsum crystal.
This variety of Selenite seems to be useful in connecting you with your guides or your Angels. To use the crystal for connecting with your guides, simply hold it while going into meditation. Alternatively, you can place it above, or on top of, your Crown Chakra. It may seem challenging or even overwhelming to connect with your guides in this way, but it doesn’t have to be difficult. Just make yourself comfortable and try to go into silent meditation with the intention to meet or interact with your guides or angels.
The Selenite will help to enhance angelic connection or a connection with spirit guides or ascended masters. During meditation, if you are holding the intention to connect with your guides or Angels, the Selenite can help you to receive the inner knowing that the connection has been made.

I love angel aura quartz. I have blue, orange & clear. I like blue Kyanite for clearing my chakras.
Ginger, I love to use Blue Kyanite to clear my chakras too! I use the blades in the same way as a Selenite wand.
Of course; the Satin Spar Selenite! It is so gentle and soothing! I also frequently use Blue Kyanite in much the same manner. Obsidian varieties would be faves for Spirit guides. For Angels and the Ascended Ones: There are so many to choose from! Two I think of are Apophyllite (including the green) and Clevelandite. Albite or Anhydrite could be useful as well. There are many Angel Crystals!
Oh yes – Apophyllite is WONDERFUL for this! I especially love putting the Pyramid-shaped pieces up to my Third Eye Chakra! 🙂 Crystal blessings!
When cleansing your energy field with a Selenite blade, does it matter which hand you hold it in (ie: sending or receiving)?

I tend to hold my healing tools in my dominant hand, but I suppose there could be arguments for both. I usually encourage my students to just “pick up” their tools (whichever hand naturally grasps the crystal is likely the correct one for you). Hope that helps! Crystal blessings & thanks for reading.
