There are many types of crystal wands out there, but one type that may have heard of are “Lemurian” crystal wands. What is a Lemurian wand exactly, and what makes it special? Read on to find out what separates these beautiful crystals from the others, and pick up some suggestions on how to use them along the way!
Most Lemurian crystal laser wands are single-terminated, clear Quartz points from a very special place in Minas Gerais, Brazil. As the story goes, when the original Lemurian crystals were discovered at their current location, they were all “loose”, making them highly unique in the quartz world.
Quartz crystals almost always grow as a cluster on some form of matrix or parent material. The points can be broken off of the cluster to be separated from the others, but they must grow attached to something (unless they are “floater” Quartz, but that’s a whole other blog post in itself). The strange thing about these crystals is that they were not found growing on a matrix. Instead, it is said that the crystals were found “loose”, already detached from their bases or host rock. They were also packed in a fine pink sand that could not be found anywhere else.
It is thought by some that the crystals from this location have a connection with ancient Atlantis and Lemuria.
It is thought by some people that the Lemurians intentionally programmed important information into these crystals for the benefit of future civilizations and that the crystals would be discovered when that information was needed.
Most of this information was channeled, but sometimes people access information during meditation.
These crystals display beautiful striations along their sides. Some people believe that these little lines or grooves store ancient information. Furthermore, that this information has been programmed or downloaded into the crystals by Lemurian Masters and Teachers. It is said that the information can be accessed by rubbing your finger or thumb along the grooves while in meditation. However, it must be used for your highest good (and for the highest good of all) to receive it.
I am naturally a bit skeptical. Additionally, I have had no direct experience to confirm or deny any of this information. Therefore, I am pretty undecided as to the truth of the matter.
However, I have had some amazing meditation experiences with these crystals. No, I did not receive messages from Lemurian Masters or Teachers during my meditation. However, I did have a heightened sense of self-awareness and present moment consciousness. I felt completely and totally in my body. Furthermore, I received a great deal of clarity about my life (in the form of self-reflection). Was this information channeled or downloaded? I don’t believe that it was. It felt much more like it came from the inside out. Like the clarity came from inner knowing.
Even though I enjoyed my meditation experiences with these crystals, I feel the true benefit to using these crystals lies not in meditative practice, but in healing the energy body. I highly recommend that you use a Lemurian Quartz crystal as a laser wand.
A laser wand is a tool used in crystal therapy for intense energy work. For example, chakra healing and balancing (or the opening or closing of the chakras), psychic surgery, and removing energy attachments.
When choosing a Lemurian Quartz crystal to use as a laser wand for healing, I recommend choosing one that is strongly tapered. By this I mean wider at the base of the crystal and more narrow toward the termination. A strongly tapered shape can help to better direct and focus the energy for powerful healing work.
The next thing to consider is whether or not the crystal feels comfortable in your hand.
Hold the laser wand by placing the base of the crystal in the center of your palm and then gently embrace the crystal with your thumb. Make sure you are holding it securely in place. It is good to practice holding the crystals in this way when selecting your wand so that you can feel which crystals will be most comfortable to you. It is important to learn to hold the laser wand in this way because it gives you more control over your healing tool. For example, it provides a sturdy grip on the crystals so that you will not accidentally drop the crystal on your client while opening his or her chakras (as that could be rather uncomfortable or even startling to your client).
Additionally, it is not necessary to choose a laser wand based on its size. What matters most is that the crystal is comfortable to hold in your hand. I recommend choosing a laser wand that extends only an inch or two past your fingertips when held in the way that was described previously.
If choosing a Lemurian Quartz crystal to use as your laser wand, I also recommend choosing a high-quality wand with good clarity, deep striations, and minimal chips or damage (especially to the crystal’s termination). All of these things will add to the way the crystal will focus and direct the energy. However, you also need to consider your pocketbook. Higher quality crystals almost always fetch higher prices.
As my final words of advice on choosing a laser wand, I want to tell you something SUPER important:
If you are going to invest some money into any one piece in your crystal healing tool kit, I would encourage you to spend it on a good crystal laser wand. All of the other things I recommend for a kit can usually be purchased rather inexpensively. For example, a set of chakra stones or some small Quartz crystal points. By purchasing an excellent quality Quartz laser wand (especially a Lemurian crystal) you can ensure that you will have a beautiful “go-to” tool for a variety of serious energy work techniques.
Since laser wands are such powerful tools, they should always be used with great focus, concentration, and intention. Don’t carelessly wave your wand around.
There are several “best practices” you can use to be sure you’re using these crystals safely and effectively.
One safe, gentle technique for using your wand in a session is to use it like a comb. Sweep any negativity, unwanted energy, or stagnant energy out of your client’s energy field. Similarly, you can use this technique for cleansing your space. I learned this technique from Melody and I use it all the time.
With all of the beliefs and controversy surrounding the Lemurian connection to these crystals, I think that their true purpose is sometimes lost. Crystals are here to help us heal ourselves and each other. Regardless of what your personal beliefs are about these crystals, if you experience a session first hand, you will likely feel the unique healing energy that these stones offer.
Properties of the Varieties of Lemurian Crystals:
QUARTZ, LEMURIAN STAR SEED COLORLESS:
Also known as Lemurian Seed Quartz or as Lemurian Quartz. Use at the 6th Chakra (Third Eye/Brow Chakra) or 7th Chakra (Crown Chakra) for drawing in Universal energy and gridding it here on the Earth, to connect one to the ancient civilization of Lemuria (also known as Mu) and the esoteric wisdom of this culture, to communicate the idea of oneness and love to all other crystals on the planet, and to transmit energy from the stars to the Earth. Lemurian Seed Crystals come from a specific mine in Brazil that is thought to be located on the site of the ancient Lemurian society. They are typically very clear and have 6 sides (which alternate between smooth and horizontally striated/grooved sides.
QUARTZ, LEMURIAN STAR SEED PINK:
Also known as Pink Lemurian Seed Quartz or as Pink Lemurian Quartz. Use at the 4th Chakra (Heart Chakra) or at the 7th Chakra (Crown Chakra) to bring Universal healing energy into the physical and energetic bodies, to open chakras that have closed due to emotional trauma and to bring peace and calming. Since this is a variety of Lemurian Star Seed Quartz, these properties also apply.

Also known as Shaman’s Heart Lemurian Seed Quartz, as Shaman’s Heart Lemurian Quartz, as Smoky Lemurian Seed Quartz with Iron and Lithium Inclusions, or as Smoky Lemurian Quartz with Iron and Lithium Inclusions. Use at the 1st Chakra (Root Chakra), 5th Chakra (Throat Chakra), Sixth Chakra (Third Eye/Brow Chakra), or at the 7th Chakra (Crown Chakra) to connect with the heart of the earth, to go within the self to heal past trauma or emotional wounding, to connect with your inner most self in order to get clarity on a particular life issue, and to provide feelings of safety and security while in the midst of big life changes. This is a stone for dreamers and thinkers
There may be additional varieties of Lemurian crystals available. However, these are the descriptions for varieties with which I have personally worked. Most people agree that the original Lemurian crystals only come from Minas Gerais, Brazil. In saying that, there are many new localities for Lemurian crystals. These include Chinese Lemurian crystals, Russian Lemurian crystals, and more.

I love Lemurian Seed Crystals and have been working with them for awhile now. There are two types you didn’t mention that I wanted to bring up… Recently discovered are what are called Golden Healer Lemurian Seed Crystals. These carry the properties of a typical Golden Healer but are believed to be seeded with healing energy directly from Lemuria, specifically. They also have a golden hue that comes from inside the crystal as opposed to being a deposit on the outside of the specimens. These also have been discovered in the Minas Gerais, Brazil location and are found, “loose.” The second type are called Scarlet Temple Lemurian Seed Crystals. These are believed to contain the knowledge/wisdom/hidden secrets of the Lemurian royals and the divine healers of Lemuria that served the royalty. They are said to contain much higher wisdom than the standard Lemurian Seed Crystal. These specimens are less laser wand shaped and more, “devic temple,” shaped, some with flat bottoms that sit upright. They have the typical pink coating on the outside caused by exposure to iron oxide. They’re sometimes called Strawberry Lemurian Seeds. They too are found, “loose,” and also in the Minas Gerais, Brazil location. These specimens are considered harder to work with in terms of getting them to release their hidden secrets and only will reveal this information when they are in the possession of the correct owner and this person is deemed ready to receive such information. I hope this helps to add to the list of types of Lemurian Seed Crystals posted here. I personally have worked with both and found that for me, individually, the Golden Healer Lemurian Seed Crystals were more difficult to attune to, while the Scarlet Temple Lemurian Seed Crystal I’ve been working with was rather easy to attune to and has been very rewarding. (This would be the opposite of what is supposedly the easier crystal the advanced crystal, but as all things crystalline go – it’s an individual experience and an individual process and not all the, “rules,” you read about are going to apply to you or every person out there exactly as described or written about). Thank you for all your information on Lemurian crystals.???My lemurian crystal that I have been wearing around my neck seems to be suddenly heavier and more active as in it seems to swing about almost as if it’s come alive. I know that might sound a bit strange but it’s definitely happening I’ve been wearing it for over 8 months and it has never felt like this.
